As of January 1, 2026, the National Park Service (NPS) has implemented a non-U.S. resident surcharge for visitors at 11 of the most-visited national parks in the United States, including Utah’s Bryce Canyon and Zion.
Non-U.S. residents age 16 and older must pay a $100 non-resident fee in addition to the regular entrance fee at Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park, unless they have the America the Beautiful Non-Resident Annual Pass ($250). This does not apply to Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Hovenweep National Monument, or Natural Bridges National Monument.
The America the Beautiful Non-Resident Annual Pass covers the non-U.S. resident fee for the pass holder and all passengers in one non-commercial vehicle. For visitors entering as part of a commercial group, the annual pass will cover the non-resident fee for four people.
Verification of Non-U.S. Resident Status: U.S. resident status will be verified by checking an ID (e.g., driver’s license). Visitors will state their age; there is no need for visitors to carry passports or birth certificates for age or residency verification.
- America the Beautiful Pass: The America the Beautiful Non-Resident Annual Pass ($250) covers the non-U.S. resident surcharge fee for the pass holder. Non-U.S. residents who have an America the Beautiful Annual Pass will not be charged the individual non-U.S. resident fee when entering any park, whether privately or as part of a commercial group.
- For locations or areas that charge fees per vehicle, the Non-Resident Annual Pass covers the non-U.S. resident surcharge fee for the pass holder and all passengers in one non-commercial vehicle, or up to two motorcycles.
- For a non-U.S. resident entering as part of a commercial group, the pass will cover the non-U.S. resident fees for four people.
The following information does not apply to Arches or Canyonlands National Parks or Hovenweep or Natural Bridges National Monuments:
